Kit Configuration Walkthrough: Build the Perfect 10×10 Custom Canopy Tent Setup

Tent + walls + flags + counter — how to choose the right pieces for your footprint, budget, and event type.

Starting Point: The Canopy Tent Top

Every kit starts with the canopy — the tent top that defines your footprint and carries your largest visible brand element. For most brands entering the event space, the 10×10 custom canopy tent is the right starting point. It gives you enough space to operate effectively while staying within typical vendor space allocations at markets, festivals, and expos.

At TentLab, all canopy tops are printed with full-color dye-sublimation on 600D polyester with UV protection. Your design wraps the full top panel and the four-sided valance panels beneath it. This means your brand is visible at eye level whether someone is approaching straight-on or from the sides.

Compare your size choices:

  • 10×10 — 100 sq ft: Standard vendor space. Works for 1–2 staff, one product display, and a counter. The most versatile starting point.
  • 10×15 — 150 sq ft: Adds a lane. Use when you need a display wall and a separate checkout station, or when you have 3 staff working the space.
  • 10×20 — 200 sq ft: Two full zones. The tent you want when you're running a high-volume activation or need room for product demos.

Wall Panels: Weather Protection and Brand Surface

Walls serve two purposes: weather protection and additional brand real estate. Most brands start with a full back wall — it blocks wind, creates a clean brand backdrop for photos, and gives you a 10' × 7' print surface for your logo, tagline, or product lineup imagery.

Wall configurations for a 10×10:

  • Back wall only: Minimum viable setup for good weather events or indoor expos. Focuses all brand energy on one face.
  • Back + 1 side wall: Adds weather protection and funnels foot traffic to enter from one direction — useful for directing customer flow.
  • Full enclosure (back + 2 sides): Maximum weather protection and full brand coverage from three directions. Standard for outdoor events with unpredictable weather.

All TentLab wall panels attach via heavy-duty velcro and zipper system to any TentLab canopy frame. No tools required. Swap walls between events or replace a single panel without replacing the full kit.

Flags and Perimeter Signage

Feather flags are the single most cost-effective brand visibility upgrade in an event kit. A pair of 13' rush flags flanking your tent entrance:

  • Extends your brand footprint 4'–6' beyond the tent perimeter on both sides
  • Creates a visual frame that "claims" your space from across a crowded floor
  • Moves in the wind, which catches peripheral attention more effectively than static signage

For a 10×10 setup, 2 flags is standard. For a 10×20, 4 flags (2 per long side) creates a fully framed corridor effect. All TentLab flags are printed on 110gsm knitted polyester and include a ground stake or cross base for hard surfaces.

The Branded Counter: Your Transaction and Engagement Hub

The custom counter is the most underrated piece in a tent kit. It multi-tasks:

  • Transaction surface (card reader, receipts, product handoffs)
  • Brand display (front panel is a full-color print you own)
  • Storage (interior cabinets or shelf — keeps inventory, bags, and gear out of sight)
  • Conversation anchor (gives your rep a place to stand that isn't "behind a table")

TentLab counters come in two styles: a full-wrap printed cube counter with interior shelf, and a lightweight half-height counter for setups where space is tight. Both are designed to disassemble flat for transport.

Based on the most common event types we see in the field:

  • Farmers market / local pop-up: 10×10 + back wall + 2 flags + counter. ~$950–$1,200 fully custom.
  • Festival activation: 10×20 + full walls + 4 flags + counter. Maximum presence for high-traffic events.
  • Trade show: 10×10 or 10×15 + back wall + counter + LED lighting. Focus on clean backdrop and conversation zone.
  • Sports sponsorship: 10×10 + 2 sidewalls + 4 flags. High visibility, quick setup, built for repeated use on fields/courses.
